The College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled Psychological First Aid, in the presence of a number of fourth-stage students and teachers in the College of Nursing. The workshop aimed at relieving stress and fear resulting from the disaster, in addition to securing a safe environment psychologically and physically that enables the injured and their families to recover faster in order to return to normal life.
The workshop also included psychological first aid, which is a set of skills that help community residents take care of themselves and others by providing basic psychosocial support during and after a dangerous event or emergency.
The researchers in the workshop called for the preparation of a guide containing psychological first aid steps to be used in the event of an emergency event and how to deal with it, and the need to conduct more workshops and lectures on what psychological first aid is for the largest segment of society
