In a remarkable academic and institutional achievement that solidifies its regional and international standing, the College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad has obtained full academic accreditation after comprehensively and systematically meeting all the strict national and international standards and requirements necessary to ensure the quality of higher education
On this occasion, Dean Prof. Dr. Wissam Jabbar Qasim stated that the college’s attainment of full academic accreditation represents a strategic turning point and a true culmination of years of diligent work and continuous development in infrastructure and curricula, emphasizing that this achievement places the college among the ranks of distinguished and reputable institutions, and grants its graduates’ degrees high credibility both locally and internationally, thereby opening broader horizons for them in the academic and medical job market
For her part, Dr. Noor Al-Huda Khalil, Assistant Professor and Head of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division, added that this success was the result of integrated coordination efforts and meticulous oversight of the application of self-assessment standards and the alignment of educational and clinical practices with international quality indicators, noting that the next challenge lies in sustaining maintaining this high level of institutional and academic performance
This accreditation fundamentally aims to develop the college’s educational and research environment in accordance with the latest global standards, ensure the quality of educational outcomes, and provide the health sector with nursing staff possessing the highest leadership and practical skills, in addition to strengthening scientific partnerships and academic exchange with internationally accredited universities and medical centers
This significant achievement adds real value that directly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as it contributes to advancing Goal 4 on quality education by providing an equitable, inclusive, and high-quality educational environment. It also serves Goal 3 on good health and well-being by preparing a competent nursing generation capable of raising the standard of healthcare and preventing medical complications for patients in the community
