The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the doctoral thesis  tagged Effectiveness of an Instructional Program on Knowledge, Attitudes, and Behaviors of Parents toward Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in Autism Centers at Baghdad City for the student Safa Razak Arar.

 

The aim of the study is to find out the effectiveness of the instructional program on knowledge, attitudes and behaviors among parents toward children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

The letter also included the thesis to indicated that the general evaluation of the parents’ knowledge about ADHD for the study sample before implementing the program was a lack of basic knowledge, attitudes, and behviours about ADHD, but after implementing the program the result was: The study indicated a high effectiveness in the knowledge of the parents matters between the study group as indicated by the high significance associated with the “Greenhouse-Geisser” correction at p-value = 0.001. A significant difference was found for the study group on the first and second pretest and posttest over time, compared with the control group.

 

The most important recommendations reached by the study: that there be training programs in the autism center that increase parents’ knowledge of how to deal with children with ADHD and other mental disorders , And the estimate that the researcher got privilege.
