The College of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed a doctoral thesis entitled “The effectiveness of the intervention program on nurses involved in ambulatory procedures for patients with acute myocardial infarction in the coronary care unit” by researcher Wissam Muhammad Karim Al-Qusair under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hakima Shaker in the Faculty’s skills hall.

The thesis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a training program for nurses working in coronary care units to improve their response to emergency procedures for patients with acute myocardial infarction (acute myocardial infarction).

The results of the study confirmed the validity of the alternative hypotheses, as they showed a positive and statistically significant effect of the intervention program on nurses’ knowledge and practices related to dealing quickly and effectively with these critical cases. This indicates that specialized training programs play a pivotal role in raising the efficiency of nursing staff.

One of the most important recommendations of the study is to provide intensive practical training programs for nurses. It is essential that training curricula and programs include practical programs in hospitals and health centers to enable nurses to gain the necessary experience to deal promptly and effectively with acute myocardial infarction cases. The researcher received a grade of “Very Good” for his thesis.

This thesis aligns with the principles of sustainable development in the health sector. By enhancing the competence of nurses and providing them with advanced skills in dealing with emergency situations, such as heart attacks, this research contributes to the third goal of good health. This emphasizes the importance of this research in developing nursing practices and improving the quality of healthcare in Iraq.
