The Continuing Education Unit at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Baghdad, organized a specialized workshop entitled “Elevated Nitrogen Oxide Levels in Adolescents,” presented by Dr. Safad Riad Essam and attended by a group of faculty members and staff.
The workshop included comprehensive scientific topics, beginning with an introduction to nitrogen oxide gas, its uses, and the dangers of misuse, especially by adolescents.
The workshop concluded with a set of recommendations that emphasized the importance of increasing parents’ awareness of their children’s behavior and raising their awareness of the dangers of misuse of gases and substances, as well as the need to incorporate these dangers into educational curricula and monitor the distribution of these gases that pose a danger to the health of adolescents.
This activity is part of the Continuing Education Unit’s curriculum to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4 (Quality Education) by raising awareness among parents, society, and educational institutions. Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) is achieved by improving quality of life and ensuring safe use.
