The Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Unit at the College of Nursing, University of Baghdad, organized an awareness workshop titled “Effective Self-Marketing: Tools and Strategies for Achieving Professional Success,” presented by Dr. Nuha Adel Ibrahim, head of the unit, and Dr. Intisar Muzaffar Awda, a member of the unit, in the presence of graduate students at the college.

The workshop addressed self-marketing mechanisms and the researcher’s ability to highlight their skills, experiences, and academic and clinical achievements in a professional manner that reflects the added value to the educational institution and society; these skills aim to boost self-confidence, seize professional and research opportunities, expand one’s network of contacts locally and internationally, and achieve excellence in the competitive job market.

The workshop featured interactive discussions on ways to present oneself and formulate a professional identity concisely and accurately, along with a review of the key elements of personal branding, foremost among which are: building a well-crafted resume, focusing on scholarly publications and meaningful participation in conferences and seminars, and making optimal use of professional digital platforms, all supported by real-life examples and success stories.

The workshop concluded by emphasizing that self-marketing is not personal promotion, but rather a systematic highlighting of one’s intellectual value and practical capabilities that opens broader horizons for professional and academic development. The Technology Incubator expressed its full readiness to nurture students’ entrepreneurial ideas and provide the necessary environment to translate them into successful projects.

This event aligns with the college’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 8 on decent work and economic growth through stimulating entrepreneurship and providing productive opportunities for youth, Goal 4 on quality education by instilling concepts of innovation and linking education to the labor market, and Goal 9 on industry, innovation, and infrastructure to support and develop startups.
