The Training, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at the college of Nursing at the University of Baghdad organized a special celebration of Iraqi National Entrepreneurship Day in the faculty’s main hall, attended by a large gathering of faculty members and students interested in innovation and start-ups.
The celebration included a series of specialized lectures and presentations that focused on the concept of entrepreneurship and its strategic importance in supporting the national economy and developing leadership skills among young people, as well as presenting realistic and inspiring experiences of a number of entrepreneurs who reviewed their success stories, highlighted the challenges they faced in the early stages of their projects, and how they overcame them with patience and proper planning

The event also featured interactive live discussion sessions between students and entrepreneurs, providing a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences and answer students’ questions about the mechanisms for starting entrepreneurial projects, ways to develop them, and how to turn theoretical ideas into real-world projects. This activity comes within the framework of the Training, Employment and Follow-up Unit’s keenness to establish a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in the university environment and support youth initiatives that contribute to honing students’ skills and enabling them to enter the job market with a creative and entrepreneurial spirit.

This celebration achieves one of the sustainable development goals, namely Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by supporting a culture of entrepreneurship and encouraging youth initiatives that contribute to creating new job opportunities and stimulating innovation, in line with the university’s strategic vision of building a sustainable knowledge economy that enhances the role of youth in comprehensive development.
