The Scientific Affairs Unit at the Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University organized a workshop entitled “Digit Innovation and its Role in Documenting Historical Heritage”, which was delivered by Mr. Hussein Adnan Kazim and attended by a group of faculty and staff members at the college’s Continuing Education Hall

The workshop aimed to enhance the understanding of the enormous potential of digital innovation in preserving and documenting historical heritage, emphasizing the importance of multidisciplinary cooperation between cultural and social institutions.

The workshop concluded with a set of recommendations, the most important of which were to direct digital innovation towards actively engaging local communities in preserving their historical and cultural heritage, encouraging the creation of interactive digital platforms that allow the public to access the documented heritage and contribute to its enrichment, and supporting research and projects that use modern technologies, such as augmented virtual reality and artificial intelligence, to document and display heritage in innovative ways.

This workshop comes as a confirmation of the College of Nursing’s commitment to its active role in serving the community and contributing to the preservation of Iraq’s cultural heritage, as well as achieving one of the Sustainable Development Goals, namely Goal 11, “Safe and resilient cities and communities”, through the preservation of cultural and natural heritage.
