The College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad organized a workshop entitled (Peace Building) in the presence of the college’s teaching and administrative staff and preliminary studies students.
The workshop aimed to identify the concept of peace, the culture of peace building, and its impact on the interaction of individuals, families, and society, as well as enhancing the role of youth in participating in peace building and peaceful coexistence.
The workshop was presented by Instructor Dr. Safad Riyadh Isam within the activities of continuous education unit and as a part of the college’s efforts to achieve the sustainable development goals, as it contributes to achieving the sixteenth goal (peace, justice, and strong institutions).
The workshop also included several topics, the most important are: the importance of peace in building societies, preventing strife, and combating extremism by resolving internal conflicts, identifying the sources of these conflicts, and reducing them, including peaceful coexistence in university campuses and respect for self-opinions and the opinion of others.
In conclusion, the concept of peacebuilding was discussed among the attendees by opening the dialogue for the participants and identifying the most important problems that undermine the peace building process and developing appropriate solutions.
