The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the doctoral thesis tagged effectiveness of education program on nurses’ practices about discharge plan for orthopedic patients treated by internal fixation devices for the student Thani Asmar Radi
The aim of the thesis is to determine the effectiveness of the educational program on nurses’ practices about orthopedic patients discharge plan. To identify the relationship between the nurses’ discharge plan for orthopedic patients’ who treated by internal fixation devices and their demographic characteristics.
The study also included the study reveals that the orthopedic nurses have the same level of evaluation at pre -test were low level of practice regarding patients discharge plan, 30(100%), with arithmetic mean and standard division (1.08 ∓ 0.00). At post- test, there were clear improve in level of nurses’ practices 22(73.3%) in a high level, with arithmetic mean and standard division (2.52 ∓ 0.450). The level of nursing practices in pretest was a very low. The educational program that was implemented on orthopedic nurses have positive effect on nurses’ practices. The educational program has more effective with increasing in nurses age, level ofeducation and more experiences in orthopedic ward.
The most important recommendations reached by the study: implemented the program as guidance uses in orthopedic ward. Activate discharge planner roll in orthopedic units to apply and provide high level of care And the estimate that the researcher got well/very good/ privilege.
