The College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad, in cooperation with members of the Community Police Office of the Minister of Interior, organized a physical seminar for students and teachers entitled (Electronic Extortion: Treatment and Solutions).
The workshop aimed to help students on how to deal with cases of electronic extortion that they may be exposed to.
The workshop included an introduction to the various types of electronic extortion (financial, sexual, emotional, utilitarian) and the materials used in extortion and its motives. The workshop also included ways to avoid falling prey to electronic blackmail by activating the security feature of devices, and securing the personal account. Members of the community police also reviewed the steps to be taken by the victim in the event that they fall into the trap of electronic extortion and the blackmailer threatened.
At the end of the workshop, it was pointed out the need to confront the danger of extortion and not to resort to acquiescing to the demands of the blackmailer. The members of the community police and the joints of the state are ready to help any citizen through the toll-free number (497) to reflect the image by creating a healthy society free of extortion.
