The College of Nursing organized an educational awareness campaign about arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus and healthy food for inpatients and incoming patients to Al-Yarmouk Teaching Hospital.

The campaign aimed to spread health culture among inpatients and patients coming to the clinics of Yarmouk Teaching Hospital.

The educational awareness campaign included the distribution of printed health awareness pamphlets and folders for the purpose of disseminating health culture among patients and attendance to outpatient clinics about chronic diseases, how to prevent injury and avoid complications resulting from the disease, and health awareness pamphlets were distributed about diseases of the heart, blood vessels and arteries, including myocardial infarction and high blood pressure. , as well as distributing educational brochures about healthy food for diseases of the heart, blood vessels and arteries, which is important for maintaining the health of the individual and avoiding disease, as well as awareness brochures about diabetes and the complications resulting from it, and methods of early detection and prevention of the disease.

The researchers recommended the need to conduct periodic examinations and visit a doctor to follow up on the individual’s health status, exercise and physical fitness, and the need to eat healthy food and focus on fruits and vegetables and avoid unhealthy foods, including fast and canned foods rich in saturated fats to avoid their harmful effect on human health.
