The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the doctoral thesis tagged) Effectiveness of an Interventional Program on Nurses-midwifes’ Knowledge and Practices about Immediate Postpartum Care at Maternity Teaching Hospital’s in Delivery Room (for the student Sanaa Hussein Ali.
The aim of the study is to find out the effectiveness of Interventional Program on Nurses-midwifes’ Knowledge and Practices about Immediate Postpartum Care at Maternity Teaching Hospital’s in Delivery Room at Holly Karbala City.
The letter also included the thesis to The study shows that )74%( of nurse-midwives showed fair level of knowledge during the pre-test, the level of knowledge is improved to good among (96%) of them during post-test 1 and among )92%( during the post-test 2. Also nurse-midwives’ practices level of mother’s care; during the pre-test, the total percentage of practices level was 44.5% always applied by nurse-midwives; is improved in the post-test 1, 69% of practices were always applied and during the post-test 2, 71.6% were always applied. while nurse midwives’ practices level of newborn’s care; during the pre-test, the total percentage of practices was 7.8 % always applied by nurse-midwives; and improved in the post-test 1, 70.2% of practices are always applied and during the post-test 2, 85% are always applied.
The most important recommendations reached by the study: the nurse –midwives must be enrolled need to training courses about immediate postpartum care in delivery room to improve their knowledge and practices, in order to provide high-quality care immediately after birth to the mother and newborn , And the estimate that the researcher got privilege.
