The Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad celebrated the artistic and humanitarian achievements of student Alaa Abdul Sattar, a third-year student in the pediatric nursing department. The dean, Prof. Dr. Wissam Jabbar Qasim, honored her for her excellence and the success of her short film, “A Day in the Life of a Nurse.” This artistic work was part of a short film competition organized by the college’s Media and Government Communication Division, in an effort to highlight the pivotal and humanitarian role that nurses play in the health system and to highlight the daily challenges they face in caring for patients.

The college’s deanship emphasized that organizing this competition is clearly part of its efforts to achieve sustainable development goals, as it contributes to promoting quality education by supporting student talent and integrating artistic creativity into the academic process. It also serves the goal of good health and well-being by highlighting the tireless efforts of nursing staff in ensuring the safety of society. Furthermore, these initiatives support decent work and economic growth by promoting the value of the nursing profession in society and highlighting it as a noble profession that requires high technical and human skills.

At the end of the ceremony, the dean praised the student’s efforts and her outstanding talent in portraying the reality of the profession, emphasizing the college’s ongoing commitment to supporting all activities and events that highlight the bright side of the nursing profession and enhance its status in the community.
