The editorial board of the Iraqi National Journal of Nursing Specialties held its first meeting, chaired by the dean of the college, Prof. Dr. Wissam Jabbar Qasim, and attended by the assistant dean for scientific affairs and graduate studies, the chairwoman and members of the editorial board.

The meeting began with a speech by the Dean, in which he emphasized the pivotal importance of the journal and its role in supporting research and scientific progress, as well as the need to strengthen the college’s position among reputable academic institutions.
The editor-in-chief of the journal, Prof. Dr. Sadiq Abdul Hussein Hassan, gave a detailed presentation on the results of submissions to global databases (such as DOAJ and EBSCO). The presentation covered the evaluation stages and requirements for acceptance into these databases, which contribute to raising the journal’s ranking and enhancing its international scientific presence.
During the meeting, high appreciation was expressed to the distinguished members of the editorial board for their scientific efforts and outstanding contributions in supporting the journal’s progress and development.

In conclusion, the attendees expressed their thanks and gratitude to the Dean and his colleagues for their continued support of research activities, affirming that this meeting represents a blessed start to a fruitful scientific journey that enhances the status of the College of Nursing and its scientific journal.

This meeting and the efforts made to include the journal in global databases reflect the college’s commitment to achieving the fourth Sustainable Development Goal (quality education) by improving the quality of scientific research and academic publications. Raising the journal’s ranking and facilitating its global accessibility ensures the wider dissemination of reliable health knowledge, which directly supports Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by developing nursing and medical cadres and promoting evidence-based practices.
