The College of Nursing, represented by the Women’s Affairs Unit, organized an extensive awareness campaign titled “Conservation and Sustainability of Water and Energy.” The initiative was conducted in implementation of the unit’s scheduled activity plan, aimed at fostering a culture of responsible consumption and raising awareness about preserving natural resources and protecting them from depletion.
The campaign aimed to elevate environmental and community awareness among the college’s faculty, administrative staff, and students. It emphasized positive daily practices and behaviors that curb the excessive use of electrical power and water, underscoring that conservation is a shared national and collective responsibility requiring concerted efforts to ensure resource sustainability for future generations.
The activities included distributing practical guidelines and awareness tips on optimizing energy and water usage across college facilities and residential environments. It also highlighted the positive impact of these simple measures in bolstering sustainability efforts and mitigating the environmental and economic repercussions of unregulated consumption.
This initiative aligns directly with the Sustainable Development Goals, notably Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) by promoting water resource conservation and management, Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) through enhancing energy efficiency and reducing loss, Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by entrenching sustainable consumption patterns, and Goal 13 (Climate Action) by mitigating emissions and adverse environmental impacts.
