The College of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the master’s thesis entitled “Determining the Quality of Nursing Work Life and Care Behavior of Nurses in Critical Care Units”, submitted by the researcher Zainab Jassim Jabbar under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Siroan Jaafar Baghi
The thesis aimed to determine the level of quality of nursing work life and assess the care behavior of nurses working in critical care units.
The results of the study showed that the quality of nursing work life of nurses in these units was at a moderate level, while a large number of them showed a high level of professional care behavior provided to patients.
The most important recommendation of the study was that health organizations should strive to improve the quality of work life for nurses, as this has a direct impact on raising the level of health care and improving their job satisfaction. The researcher received an “A” grade for her thesis.
This recommendation is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 3 on ensuring a healthy life and SDG 8, which focuses on decent work and economic growth, as investing in nurses and providing a positive work environment is a key pillar to achieve a sustainable and resilient health system.
