Within the framework of cooperation between Iraqi universities, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Nursing, University of Baghdad, in cooperation with Tikrit University – College of Science, organized an electronic workshop entitled (Monkeypox…cause – symptoms – treatment – prevention) on Saturday, 31/8/2024 AD through google meet program.
The workshop was attended by Dr. Bushra Ali Kadhim, a lecturer at the College of Science / Tikrit University, and Dr. Alaa Shayea Shubram, a lecturer at the College of Nursing / University of Baghdad. The workshop aimed to introduce monkeypox, its pathogen, the symptoms that appear on the infected person, and how to diagnose and prevent it.
The workshop included several topics, the most important of which was a historical introduction to the disease and the outbreaks that occurred in the world, starting from the discovery of the disease until now, the composition and classification of the virus that causes the disease, the most important symptoms that appear on the infected person, and how to correctly diagnose, treat and prevent the disease.
The lecturers recommended the need to hold educational workshops to educate community groups about monkeypox, which has spread again around the world, for the purpose of preventing it, limiting its spread, and educating those infected about how to deal with the disease to reduce its spread.
