The College of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the tagged master’s thesis (predicting weight loss associated with anorexia among inmates of government nursing homes: a multi-provincial study) by Student Abbas Sabah Fadhil
The aim of the letter was to predict weight loss associated with anorexia among inmates of government nursing homes and to know the relationship and differences of significant statistical significance between expected weight loss and some elected social, demographic and clinical characteristics.
The letter also included: 33.0% of the study sample was at risk of anorexia and needed nutritional counselling. His (24.0%) of the study participants were also classified as needing a frequent reassessment of the nutritional condition. The next six, if nutritional advice and interventions are not implemented. More than half of the study samples were at risk of anorexia and unintentional weight loss and are expected to lose at least (5%) of total body weight over the next six months, if nutritional advice and interventions are not implemented.
The most important recommendations of the study: that both urgent and detailed nutritional intervention according to the characteristics of the target group, is required to manage the nutritional problem highlighted by the research for elderly individuals living in government nursing homes .
