The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the master’s thesis tagged the relationship between family functioning and tendency to relapse among patients with substance use disorder for the student Haithem Yousif Kataa.

The aim of the thesis is to determine the relationship between family functioning and relapse tendency among substance use disorder (SUD) patients.

The letter also included the thesis that all patients with substance use disorder are males (64.3%) who used mainly amphetamines (crystal), (51.4%) had one relapse, (and 95.7%) were admitted voluntarily. There is a significant relationship between family functioning and the tendency to relapse among patients with substance use disorders.Crystal is the most commonly used substance among young men in Iraq, and family functioning does not directly affect relapse tendencies.

The most important recommendations reached by the study: Spreading the culture of treating addiction cases by opening special hospitals, developing a policy to address and reduce this phenomenon, and activating the role of the media in combating drugs. And the estimate that the researcher got privilege.
