The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the doctoral thesis tagged effectiveness of interventional program on nurses’ knowledge and practice about chest physiotherapy techniques for patients with corona virus disease for the student Ahmed Yassin Khudair.
The aim of the thesis is to evaluate effectiveness of interventional program on nurses’ practice about chest physiotherapy techniques for patients with coronavirus and to find out the relationship between nurses’ practice and their demographic characteristics.
The letter also included the thesis to The results of the present study showed that nurses who were providing care for patients with COVID-19 in the isolation unit had poor to fair knowledge and inefficacy practice about chest physiotherapy techniques before conducted of an intervention program and their knowledge and practice was not affected by their demographic characteristics. The findings showed improved in nursesꞌ knowledge and practice in the posttest. The study concluded that nurses working at the isolation units need to be more knowledgeable on chest physiotherapy techniques provided for patients with COVID-19. The study recommends that chest physiotherapy techniques are a necessary treatment for patients with COVID-19.
The most important recommendations reached by the study: Conducting educational and interventional programs about these techniques for nurses in all hospitals in the country, an urgent need at the present time, because of its essential role in raising the level of knowledge and developing practices among nurses and improving the health status of patients with COVID -19 and the estimate that the researcher got privilege.
