The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the master’s thesis tagged )The Relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Leadership Style of Nurse Managers at Teaching and Non-Teaching Hospitals in Baghdad City for the student Ibrahim Saleem Mahdi.

 

The aim of the study is to evaluate the level of emotional intelligence of nurse managers as well as their leadership competencies styles and to find the relationship between emotional intelligence and leadership style at Teaching and Non-Teaching Hospitals in Baghdad City.

The letter also included the thesis to that nurse mangers are showing good leadership competencies regarding the leadership style of (change, subordinate style, results-focused, and communication based style). In addition, the current study reported a positive correlation is seen between emotional intelligence and leadership style.

The most important recommendations reached by the study: the following designing a training program that improve conflict management and emotional intelligence for nurses that effectively manage conflicts among them which is inevitable in health care institutions and conducting a link channel between academic institution and continuous education centres in health care institutions to develop emotional intelligence skills and leadership skills, as a key for conflict management skillsAnd the estimate that the researcher got privilege.
