The Continuing Education Unit at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific workshop entitled “Local Publishing Strategies in the Iraqi Journal: From Preparing Research to Submission via the Journal Management System.” with the participation of a group of graduate students. The workshop was presented by Prof. Dr. Widad Kamel Muhammad, editor-in-chief of the Iraqi National Journal of Nursing Specialties, who reviewed the scientific and methodological foundations for preparing research extracted from theses and dissertations in accordance with approved academic standards, and provided a detailed explanation of the mechanisms for submission and follow-up through the electronic journal management system in line with the requirements of sound scientific arbitration.

The workshop aimed to develop the research and scientific publishing skills of graduate students and enhance their knowledge of quality standards and academic publishing ethics, as well as to support publishing trends in accredited national journals to ensure that scientific outputs reach the local and international academic community. The workshop focused on how to formulate research manuscripts and overcoming technical obstacles in electronic submission systems to ensure the speed and accuracy of the scientific evaluation process and raise the level of nursing research to become a reliable reference in the Iraqi scientific library.

This workshop is part of a series of scientific activities aimed at developing the research landscape and encouraging researchers to adopt methodological foundations that serve the educational process and contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals, particularly Goal 4 on quality education and Goal 9 on industry, innovation, and infrastructure, by supporting scientific research and academic innovation Promoting the dissemination of scientific publications contributes to building a knowledge economy and developing sustainable scientific solutions to health and societal challenges, placing the college at the forefront of institutions supporting intellectual growth and research progress in Iraq.
