The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the master’s thesis/ doctoral thesis tagged Application of Self- Care Behaviors Scale for Arterio -Venous Fistula among Hemodialysis Patients for the student Ihab Nadhir Ghazi.
The aim of the study is to evaluate self-care behavior for arteriovenous fistula among hemodialysis patients and to find out the association between self-care behavior among hemodialysis patients and demographic characteristics.
The letter also included the thesis to Majority of patients experienced with fair level of knowledge regarding self-care behaviors of arteriovenous fistula 425 (85.0%). There is significant relation between age of patients and their self-care behaviors p-value were 0.049. Also significant relation founded between educational level and arteriovenous fistula self-care behaviors p-value were 0.019. Also there is no significant relation between patients’ clinical data and their self-care behaviors.
The most important recommendations reached by the study: A simple manual of guidelines of self-care behavior for arteriovenous fistula should be available in all hemodialysis units. Also, Set up a counseling room in the hemodialysis units provided with needed resources to enhance self –care practices for hemodialysis patients , And the estimate that the researcher got privilege.
