The Continuing Education Unit at the faculty organized an awareness seminar entitled “Promoting Integrity and Transparency in Combating Financial and Administrative Corruption.” The seminar was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Esen Kamal, Lecturer Dr. Hawra Ali, and lawyer Mr. Hassan Mohammed. It was attended by a group of faculty members and students in the college’s Continuing Education Hall.

The seminar aimed to raise awareness of the importance of integrity and transparency as fundamental pillars of institutional work, and to highlight the manifestations of financial and administrative corruption and their negative effects on sustainable development. It also sought to support a culture of accountability and compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and to enhance participants’ ability to monitor indicators of corruption and deal with similar cases, while promoting professional ethical behavior and instilling values of honesty and responsibility among staff members.

The seminar concluded with a number of recommendations aimed at establishing integrity and good governance, most notably: the need to support national and institutional initiatives in the field of combating corruption, and to implement specialized workshops and training programs in this field. The recommendations also emphasized the need for the people and administrative units to develop future strategic plans to promote integrity and distribute tasks and responsibilities among employees in accordance with their competencies to ensure efficient performance. In addition, they called for the adoption of electronic archiving and the preservation of information confidentiality, the development of employees’ capabilities and training to raise their efficiency in detecting corruption and reducing its risks, and the preparation of guidelines clarifying the functional procedures related to combating corruption.

This seminar is part of the College of Nursing’s contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). By promoting the concepts of integrity and preventive measures in institutions, the college seeks to build a transparent and accountable institution, ensuring work efficiency and supporting sustainable development in the country.
