The college of Nursing discussed the doctoral thesis entitled The effectiveness of an intervention based on the health beliefs model in changing health beliefs about substance use by the student Haider Kazem Radam under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Raad Faraj Karim in the Great Hall of the College
The study aimed to apply the health beliefs model in changing health beliefs about substance use, and the study found that the model was effective in changing students’ beliefs about the use of narcotic substances. The study also recommended conducting larger studies on Iraqi society by applying the health beliefs model.
This study is aligned with the SDGs Goal 3 Good Health and Well-being The study contributes to promoting health and well-being for all by addressing substance use, which poses a threat to public health, and Goal 4 Quality Education The study is related to providing quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all, especially with regard to health awareness and risk-taking behaviors. Goal 16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions Reducing drug use can contribute to building more peaceful and just societies.
