The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University  discussed the master’s thesis tagged) Nurses’ Knowledge and Attitudes toward Care of Dying Patients in Critical Care Units(  for the student Shehab Ahmed Hamid.

 

The aim of the thesis is to assess nurse’s attitudes toward end of life care patient. To find out the relationships between nurse’s attitude and demographic data (age, gender, level of education, years of experience) and assess nurse’s knowledge toward Palliative Care of Patients end of life phase. find out relationships between nurses Knowledge and demographic data (age, gender, level of education, years of experience).

The letter also included the thesis to the study results revealed that of nurse’s are positive level of attitude towards end of life care of nurses who work in diyala city and remaining negative. there was no significant relationship between demographic data (gender ,nurses number of training course, and area of employment , source of information about PC for dying patient) and attitude about care of the dying patient, found results of this study showed that nurses knowledge are good (74.0%),fair (26.0%), poor (0.0%) for palliative care toward End of life care .

 

The most important recommendations reached by the study: Is necessity of evolving education as well as training that can enhance nurse’s behavior toward end of life care and offers nursing continuing medical education programs. The investigate relationship among religion and spiritual of nurses and their attitude toward end-of-life care.. And the estimate that the researcher got privilege.
