The College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad organized a scientific field visit for postgraduate / professional diploma students, accompanied by a select group of faculty members from the Department of Nursing Fundamentals.

The visit aimed to familiarize students with cardiovascular and arterial diseases, as well as the latest scientific developments and modern technologies used in open-heart surgeries, including advanced AI-powered technologies.

The visit included a field tour throughout the center’s facilities, covering the Coronary Care Units (CCU), Critical Care Units (ICU), the Catheterization Lab, the Operating Theater, as well as medical and surgical wards. During the tour, students observed major surgical operations and interventions performed at the center and gained insight into key cardiovascular conditions requiring specialized medical and nursing care. They also learned about the crucial role of nursing in delivering optimal care to hospitalized patients, enhancing their health stability, accelerating their recovery, and facilitating their safe discharge.

This visit aligns with the Deanship of the College of Nursing’s ongoing efforts to enhance students’ clinical and scientific expertise, hone their practical skills, and empower them to provide evidence-based nursing interventions—thereby reducing patient burden and accelerating recovery response.

Furthermore, this visit contributes to achieving two of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education).
