The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the Diploma Capstone tagged) Evidence-Based Nursing Practices toward Prevention of Endotracheal Tube Obstruction for Critically Ill Patients (for the student Ahmed Abd Alwahab Mohsen.

The aim of the study is to obtain evidence-based nurses practices regarding endotracheal tube obstruction for nursing staff working in health care settings, especially in the intensive care unit.

The letter also included the Twelve articles reviewed the benefits of nursing practices toward prevention of Endotracheal Tube obstruction for critically ill patients. Conclusion: Endotracheal tube care requires a clear understanding of sterilization methods and suction and vacuum techniques for fine respiratory secretions to avoid obstruction. The leakage of subglottic secretions colonizing around the end of the endotracheal tube is the most important risk factor for pneumonia during the first 8 days of intubation.

The most important recommendations reached by the study: The nurse must be fully aware of the symptoms and signs that indicate tube blockage to avoid the death rate. and to give continuous and intensive courses for nurses on how to handle endotracheal tubes and how to properly suction, and the estimate that the researcher got privilege
