As part of its awareness-raising activities aimed at promoting health awareness among women, Assistant Professor Dr. Nuha Adel Ibrahim from the Maternal and Neonatal Nursing Department at the College of Nursing, University of Baghdad, delivered an awareness lecture on Thursday at the Ministry of Water Resources titled “Early Detection of Breast Cancer and Prevention Methods.”
The event highlighted the importance of early detection of breast cancer, raised awareness of risk factors and warning signs, and explained the role of regular screenings and healthy practices in increasing the chances of early detection. It also encouraged women to visit healthcare facilities if they notice any abnormal changes in their breasts.
This event is part of efforts to strengthen community partnerships between academic institutions and government agencies and to promote a culture of health among women, thereby supporting prevention and improving quality of life. This contributes to achieving several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 3 on good health and well-being, Goal 5 on women’s empowerment and health care, and Goal 17 on forming partnerships to achieve the goals through fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Water Resources.
