As part of efforts to foster a spirit of volunteerism and community service among students, the College of Nursing participated actively and effectively in the Central Scout Camp held at the University of Baghdad and organized by the university’s Student Activities Department.

The camp saw significant engagement from the College of Nursing’s Scouts, who provided a comprehensive range of health and awareness services to participants. These included basic medical screenings—such as blood pressure and blood sugar level checks—as well as preventive health guidance on public safety, proper nutrition, and how to handle emergency injuries.

This scout camp aims to instill the values of discipline, self-reliance, and team spirit among students, refine leadership qualities, and develop practical field skills, as well as to strengthen cooperation and positive communication among the university’s various colleges.

This activity also contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Goal 3 on Good Health and Well-being by raising awareness and providing on-site medical screenings; Goal 4 on Quality Education by building students’ life skills; and Goal 17 on Partnerships for the Goals through fruitful collaboration between colleges and student departments.
