The aim of the study is to assess prevalence of suicidal behavior among alcohol and drug addicts and to assess level of anxiety and depression symptoms, social support, perceived stress and severity of dependence
The letter also included the thesis to Findings indicate that alcohol and drug addicts are at risk of suicide among 37% of them. The severity of alcohol dependence and drug abuse was 58%. The results also indicate that addicts suffer from moderate to severe depressive symptoms and the level of perceived stress at the same degree. The results also indicate that the level of anxiety and social support was moderate. Findings indicate that suicidal behavior is strongly associated with depressive symptoms and perceived stress among addicts.
The most important recommendations reached by the study: Constructing health promoting programs to rise the populations awareness about the risk of alcohol and drug addiction and its relation to possible suicide. Support people who complain of stress, anxiety, depression, and lack of social support to minimize the risk of suicide. , And the estimate that the researcher got privilege.
