The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the master’s thesis tagged) Body Image and Quality of Life among Nursing Female Collegians: the Importance of Self-Esteem as a Mediator role (for the student Rafal Mahmoud Hasballah.
The aim of the study is to assessing the level of body image and quality of life and self-esteem among nursing female collegians. And identify the relationship between the body image, quality of life and self-esteem among nursing female collegians.
The letter also included the thesis to the result of the present study showed the highest percentage of sample unmarred and (60%) is age group from (18-21 years), (37.2%) is in first stage education level,)71.8 %( of the sample lived with the family, (80.9%) living in urban areas ,and (33.5%) their hierarchy was the fourth or more. the student experiencing are satisfied with their body image by (88.2%) ,and (79.1%) with fair quality of life and a high level of self-esteem. There are high significant relationship between body image and quality of life and self-esteem but no significant relationships between self-esteem and quality of life among female nursing collegians.
The most important recommendations reached by the study: Conducting educational courses and lectures on raising awareness of the university environment, paying attention to the positive aspects, and strengthening them in the community to raise awareness of a positive body image, especially for students who are coming to university life and new arrival , And the estimate that the researcher got privilege.
