The Continuing Education Unit at the Faculty of Nursing, University of Baghdad, organized a specialized workshop entitled “Tools for Success in Developing Clinical Skills for Higher Diploma Students,” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Iyad Majid Musa, Assistant Professor Dr. Aqil Habib Jassim, and Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Alak, with the active participation of graduate students in the college’s diploma hall.
The workshop aimed to provide students with the basic principles and scientific strategies necessary to master the clinical skills that are the cornerstone of providing safe, high-quality nursing care to patients in teaching hospitals
The workshop addressed the importance of practical training based on methodological foundations and the link between theoretical knowledge and field application, highlighting the need to possess mental and analytical tools and to be patient and persistent as essential elements for success in the university nursing profession, which essentially aims to meet the needs of patients and solve their health problems. The lecturers also reviewed practical learning strategies that enable students to acquire the clinical competence necessary to deal with various medical conditions professionally and competently, which positively reflects on the outcomes of the educational process and the general health situation.
This workshop is part of the college dean’s strategic vision to advance the scientific and practical reality of its students and its relentless pursuit of building a knowledge society, which is the cornerstone of achieving comprehensive and sustainable development. This event embodies the commitment to the fourth goal of sustainable development, which is quality and equitable education, and the third goal, which is good health and well-being good health and well-being by preparing senior nursing cadres with advanced specialized skills that contribute to improving the quality of health services provided to the community and ensuring the sustainability of the health system by providing it with competent experts capable of keeping pace with global medical developments and achieving sustainable health and well-being for all segments of society.
