Prof. Dr. Wissam Jabbar Qasim, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, welcomed Dr. Sama Faleh Gali, a researcher at the University’s Educational and Psychological Research Center. This visit comes as part of the activities of the Unified Guidance Week and within the framework of strengthening academic and research cooperation between the scientific formations at the university, especially with regard to supporting the psychological and educational aspects of the college students.
During the visit, Dr. Sama Faleh met with the Dean of the College, the Scientific Assistant, the Head of the University Psychological Counseling Unit, and liaison members. The meeting focused on exploring ways to activate the role of the university psychological counseling unit in the college and reviewing the efforts made to provide integrated counseling services that meet the needs of students, especially those in the early stages.
As part of the events, Dr. Sama Faleh gave a valuable scientific lecture to first-year students, focusing on educational counseling, explaining its concept and importance in the academic and social life of students. She also held an open discussion with students about their guidance needs and how they can be supported by the Guidance Unit and the university. Dr. Faleh also visited the university’s psychological counseling room and praised the efforts of the college’s deanship and the support and modern logistical requirements it has provided, emphasizing that this support contributes significantly to enhancing the quality of counseling services provided to students.
This partnership is an important step towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4 on quality education and Goal 3 on good health and well-being. Strengthening psychological and educational counseling services directly contributes to building a “sustainable personality” capable of adaptation and critical thinking, as well as ensuring the quality of educational outcomes and supporting the mental health of students, which is the basis for building a generation of nurses capable of serving the community efficiently and consciously.
