The Scientific Affairs Division at the Faculty of Nursing organized a comprehensive awareness-raising celebration on the occasion of the International Day Against Violent Extremism, based on the fundamental academic and educational role that educational institutions play in spreading a culture of moderation and promoting the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence among members of society. The event was attended by a number of faculty members and students, and focused on presenting informative and awareness-raising lectures that dealt in depth with the dangers of violent extremism and its negative repercussions on community security, emphasizing the need to build responsible youth awareness equipped with the intellectual tools necessary to protect society from deviant and alien ideas.
The ceremony also featured notable interaction from the audience, who enriched the sessions with comments and questions that reflected a high level of awareness of the importance of intellectual fortification. During the discussions, the importance of establishing the concepts of constructive dialogue and respect for other opinions as fundamental pillars of stability was emphasized. Participants called for the adoption of sound scientific methods and moderate thinking in addressing various social issues, in order to create an informed and open university environment that rejects all forms of hatred.
This initiative is part of a series of regular scientific and awareness-raising activities that the college is keen to organize as part of its strategic plan, believing in its responsibility to prepare health cadres whose skills are not limited to the professional and technical aspects, but extend to include social and national awareness. These efforts are directly in line with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 16 on promoting peace, justice, and strong institutions. Through these events, the college seeks to empower its students to contribute effectively to promoting intellectual security and social stability as ambassadors of humanity and peaceful coexistence.
