As part of strengthening community partnerships, professors from the Basic Sciences Department at the College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad gave awareness lectures on electronic blackmail.

For the outstanding students of Durrat Al-Kadhimiya Secondary School, Assistant Professor Dr. Asmahan Adnan, Assistant Professor Dr. Salwa Ghazi, and Lecturer Dr. Intisar Muzaffar were present.

The lectures addressed the importance of protection against cyber-extortion. Students were introduced to the dangers of cyber-extortion as one of the most prominent digital crimes. The reasons behind this crime and its psychological effects on victims were also addressed. Recommendations included caution when sharing private information, reporting suspicious accounts, and activating the role of educational counselors.

The lecture was attended by members of the Women’s Affairs Division of the Ministry of Education and the school principal. The lecturers distributed a health bag containing personal hygiene supplies and awareness brochures.

This activity contributes to serving educational institutions and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, by spreading health and psychological awareness among female students.
