The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the master’s thesis tagged effectiveness of an instructional program on nurses` knowledge and practices toward intramuscular injection for children under two years for the student Maryam Majeed Fahd.
The aim of the thesis is to assess nurses’ knowledge and practice toward intramuscular injection for children under two years.
The letter also included the thesis to revealed that, before program intervention, more than half of nurses were scored at poor level of knowledge, and one third of them were scored at inadequate practice. However, after application the instructional program, most of nurses in the study group were scored at adequate level of knowledge and practice, while the nurses in the control group still scored at inadequate level of practice. The statistics showed a significant difference among nurses’ knowledge and practice during study period.
The most important recommendations reached by the study: Adoption the constructed program by Ministry of Health, as program to develop nurses’ management about intramuscular injection for children, and encourage future studies about medical errors during drug administration among childrenand the estimate that the researcher got privilege.
