The Women’s Affairs Unit at the college of Nursing, University of Baghdad, organized a scientific seminar entitled “The Effects of Chronic Stress on Women’s Health,” which was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Suzan Ibrahim Ali, Lecturer Dr. Alaa Shayea Shabram, and Assistant Professor Dr. Asmahan Adnan Abbas. The seminar highlighted the concept of chronic stress as a health challenge, reviewing its direct and indirect effects on women’s mental and physiological health, in addition to discussing the most important preventive measures and modern strategies for eliminating stress symptoms in order to maintain a healthy physical balance. This was part of its ongoing efforts to promote health awareness and support the status of women in the academic community in the college’s continuing education hall.

The seminar witnessed distinguished attendance and interaction by the teaching and administrative staff, who enriched the discussions with their contributions. The event concluded with a set of practical recommendations that emphasized the need to adopt relaxation and deep breathing techniques to reduce stress and the importance of regular physical activity and exercise, as well as strengthening social bonds by spending quality time with family and children and following a healthy lifestyle that includes proper nutrition and positive daily habits.

This event is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3 on good health and well-being through raising awareness of health risks and prevention methods, and Goal 5 on gender equality through empowering women physically and psychologically to perform their roles effectively and efficiently.
