The Career Development and Employment Unit at the College of Nursing, University of Baghdad, held an introductory workshop on the national “Riyada” initiative in the college’s main auditorium. The workshop was led by Assistant Professor Hussein Hassan Aziz, a certified Riyada trainer at the college, and targeted a broad range of students and graduates interested in entering the entrepreneurial job market
The workshop aimed to provide a comprehensive overview of the initiative and its registration mechanisms, while clarifying the conditions and requirements necessary to obtain support for startup projects. The session included a detailed explanation of the mechanisms for developing entrepreneurial ideas and transforming them from mere initial concepts into real, practical projects, as well as a review of the unique opportunities the initiative offers to empower youth economically and overcome obstacles to their professional aspirations
The event saw significant engagement from the audience, who expressed great interest in participating in the initiative and benefiting from its intensive training and qualification programs, reflecting a growing awareness of the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation. This step is part of the University of Baghdad’s ongoing efforts to support students and graduates and foster a culture of entrepreneurship within the university community, thereby actively contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 8 on decent work and economic growth, and Goal 9, which focuses on industry and innovation through the support of start-ups and youth-led projects
