The college of Nursing, through its Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, organized a specialized awareness workshop on water conservation, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ibtisam Khalaf Abdul Ali and attended by a group of first-year students
The workshop aimed to highlight the utmost importance of water as an essential and central part of daily life, explaining the Islamic religion’s view on rationalizing consumption and prohibiting waste, as well as discussing the problem of extravagance and ways to eliminate waste and provide practical solutions to preserve this national resource
The workshop also aimed to build community awareness among young people about the global water crisis and develop a sense of individual responsibility towards natural resources, which directly contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), which seeks to ensure the availability and sustainable management of water for all, and Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by encouraging conscious consumption patterns. The event concluded by reminding students that water is a trust that must be preserved to ensure the sustainability of this blessing for all the people of our beloved country and to achieve an environmental balance that supports the growth and prosperity of society
