The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the master’s thesis tagged )Weight Trends among Middle School Students: The Mediating Role of Food Addiction and Commitment to Physical Activity(
for the student Ban Lateef Saeed.
The aim of the study is todetermine the weight trends among students, and find out the association between students’ age, families’ socioeconomic status, Food Addiction and commitment to physical activity and their body mass index.
The letter also included the thesis to that most are within normal weigh-to-height proportion, followed by those who are underweight, those who are overweight, those who have obesity class I, and those who have obesity class II. There is a statistically significant positive association between food addiction and body mass index. There is a statistically significant difference in body mass index among grade groups. There is a statistically significant difference in food addiction between gender groups.
The most important recommendations reached by the study: There is a need to conduct similar studies for as many schools across Iraq as possible , And the estimate that the researcher got privilege.
