The College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad continued its ongoing awareness program on early detection of breast cancer, with Assistant Professor Dr. Noha Adel Ibrahim participating in a workshop entitled “Early Detection of Abnormal Signs of Breast Cancer.” The workshop was held at the Center for Engineering Studies and Designs affiliated with the Ministry of Water Resources.

The workshop aimed primarily to highlight the importance of early diagnosis in reducing the number of cases diagnosed in advanced stages of the disease. The workshop included a series of tips and presentations of real cases of affected women, in order to raise awareness among attendees of the early signs of abnormal infection and promote access to screening and early treatment services.

At the end of the workshop, a group of women attendees were trained on the correct steps for breast self-examination, emphasizing the importance of prevention and early detection as an effective means of reducing complications from the disease.

This educational and preventive initiative embodies the contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 3 on “Good Health and Well-being.” By focusing on awareness and practical training on early detection of breast cancer, the college is effectively contributing to reducing mortality rates associated with non-communicable diseases and promoting awareness of preventive health, thereby supporting the building of a society that enjoys better healthcare and achieves sustainable well-being.
