The College of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed a higher diploma thesis titled “Nursing Strategies Related to Safety Procedures in Critical Care Units: Evidence-Based Practices) by Hadeel Sabti Jassim, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Alak in the College’s Museum Hall.
The thesis aimed to critically examine the best evidence-based nursing strategies related to safety procedures in critical care units Evaluate

the impact of these strategies in promoting a safe nursing practice environment Explore the role of preventive measures in minimizing medication errors and occupational hazards and improving patient outcomes
Evidence-based interventions, such as structured communication protocols, building psychological resilience, and using technology (such as barcode systems), significantly improved the safety of nursing practice Psychological and organizational factors, such as leadership support, alarm management, and effective communication, directly affect the quality and safety of care Adopting a comprehensive, multilevel approach enhances nursing performance and patient outcomes, improves morale, and reduces burnout Adopting a comprehensive, multilevel approach enhances nursing performance and patient outcomes, improves morale, and reduces burnout

The study recommended the following: Integrating mental health and resilience training programs into nursing curricula and continuing education programs Activating standardized clinical communication protocols (such as handover protocols and root cause analysis technology) Improving the use of electronic systems (such as the hospital information system, barcode medication administration system and periodic training of nursing staff on them. The researcher received an excellent grade

This research thesis is fundamentally aligned with the third Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), “Good Health and Wellbeing”, and focuses on achieving universal health coverage (UHC). By promoting safe and evidence-based nursing practices in critical care units
