The Women’s Affairs Unit at the college of Nursing, in cooperation with the Mother and Newborn Nursing Branch and the Women’s Affairs Unit at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Baghdad University, organized an educational seminar entitled: “Periodic examination is a necessity, not an option.” The seminar aimed at educating women about the necessity of adhering to periodic examination for cancer diseases to avoid contracting cervical cancer: Cervical Cancer” lectured by Assistant Professor Dr. Noha Adel Ibrahim and Assistant Professor Dr. Saba Abdul Hadi at the college’s Continuing Education Hall.

The seminar aims to raise women’s awareness of the need to adhere to periodic cancer screening to avoid contracting this disease.
The seminar was attended by a number of female faculty members from the College of Pharmacy and the College of Nursing, in addition to a number of postgraduate students (master’s degree).

The symposium concluded with some important recommendations, such as periodic screening for cervical cancer (one year and above). 20 at an early age (getting the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine). Stop smoking and eat a healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables. Strengthening the immune system by exercising and eating healthy foods.

This seminar comes in implementation of the Third National Plan for Women, Security and Peace, specifically 2026-2025 (Pillar IV / Women’s Health and Early Periodic Screening for various types of cancers), and realizes the sustainable development goals represented in the third goal of good health.
