The Council of the College of Nursing at Baghdad University held its first session for the new academic year 2026-2025, chaired by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Wissam Jabbar Qasim, and in the presence of the members of the Council. The session included important academic discussions and a remarkable honoring event.

The Council began its work with a special honor for the former head of the Community Health Branch, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Baqer Habib, in recognition of his outstanding efforts and valuable contributions he made to the branch and the college during his tenure of responsibility.

The Council also hosted the media and website officer, Assistant Professor Mustafa Wajih, who gave a detailed presentation about the official website and the Andico platform and this step comes to enhance the digital structure of the college and ensure the follow-up of academic and scientific activities The Board discussed and followed up the procedures related to the teaching process, stressing the need to prepare the classrooms in an optimal manner to receive students at the graduate and undergraduate levels, to ensure that the educational process is of high quality with the start of the academic year.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Wissam Jabbar Qasim, Dean of the College and Chairman of the Board, reviewed the directives of the Minister of Higher Education and the University Presidency, and the most important developments and academic issues raised. The Council blessed the opening of the Colleges of Excellence and Artificial Intelligence at the university, praising these qualitative additions.

The college emphasized that the work of its council aims to effectively contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially Goal 3 (good health and well-being), Goal 4 (quality education), and Goal 17 (partnerships to achieve the goals). This is through providing high-quality education, promoting scientific research, developing partnerships, and encouraging sustainable practices
