In a scientific achievement that highlights the prestigious academic level of the Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University, one of its graduates, university nurse Fayez Kazim Tuwairesh, was able to discover a scientific error in the fifteenth edition of the Textbook of Medical-Surgical Nurses in Suddarth’s & Brunner’s book, which is one of the most prominent methodological references in its field globally.
The discovery was the result of deep scrutiny as Faiz Kazim prepared for the competitive examination for the academic year 2025-2026. With his critical scientific sense and professionalism, values that the college instills in its students, Faiz contacted the publishing house directly, providing hard evidence to substantiate his observation. After a careful review, the publishing house acknowledged the error, confirming that it will correct it in the next edition. This achievement comes as a living testimony to the quality of the educational outputs of the College of Nursing at Baghdad University, and evidence that its academic environment instills in its students and graduates accuracy and scientific methodology. This work is not only a correction of a piece of information, but also a model of commitment to scientific quality, which enhances the reputation of Iraqi educational institutions in the international arena.
This achievement is proof that the outstanding education provided by the college does not stop at the classroom, but rather extends to become a driving force for sustainable scientific and professional advancement. This achievement realizes the Sustainable Development Goals, represented by the third goal of quality education.
