The Faculty of Nursing at the University of Baghdad discussed a doctoral thesis entitled “The Application of Nursing Care Practices Among Nurses and Their Impact on Improving Outcomes for Stroke Patients,” presented by doctoral student Khadija Muhammad Jassim under the supervision of Professor Widad Kamel Muhammad in the faculty’s main hall.

The study aimed to assess the direct impact of nursing care practices on the clinical outcomes of stroke patients. The results showed that these practices play a significant and effective role in improving patient health and reducing potential complications.

The researcher recommended the need to develop clinical practices in stroke care, with a focus on preventing common complications that may occur during hospitalization. These complications included respiratory pneumonia, pressure ulcers, and urinary tract infections.

The study contributes to improving health services, supporting global efforts to ensure healthy lives for all and directly aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 3, “Good Health and Well-being.”
