The Faculty of Nursing at Baghdad University discussed the master’s thesis/ doctoral thesis tagged) Parents’ Knowledge and Attitudes toward Immunization and its Relation with Pediatric Immunization Compliance at Primary Health Care Centers in Karbala City( for the student Etidal Hussein Nasser.
The aim of the message to assess parents’ knowledge and attitudes toward immunization and its relation with pediatric immunization compliance at primary health care centers in Karbala city and find out the association between the parents’ knowledge and attitudes toward immunization and their socio-demographic characteristics.
The letter also included the thesis indicated that the majority of studied parents had moderate level of knowledge, which was a significant associated with (age of fathers, level of education of fathers and mothers, occupational status of mothers, family type, and socio-economic status). Most of the studied parents had high (good) attitude toward children immunization and were significantly associated with their residence, more than sixty percent of the studied parents have children partially immunized. In addition, the present study revealed that parents’ knowledge and attitudes towards immunization does not have a significant influence on child’s immunization status.
The most important recommendations reached by the study: it is necessary to increasing the public knowledge and awareness about the importance of immunization by implementing educational programs which can be delivered through mass media, booklets, and primary health care centers staff. And the estimate that the researcher got well very good.
