The Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit at the College of Nursing at the University of Baghdad held its regular meeting on Sunday, chaired by Prof. Dr. Houra Hussein Ghaffal, head of the unit, and attended by committee members assigned to work in the unit
The meeting began with a welcome speech by the head of the unit, in which she expressed her thanks and appreciation for the outstanding efforts made by the members during the past year. The meeting, which included several key topics, focused on preparing programs to develop students’ skills to suit the 2026 launch of the unit’s strategic plan for the academic year, recent changes, and working to update methods of effective communication with the labor market, as well as strengthening training and employment partnerships with health institutions and the private sector

With precision to ensure the readiness of all activities, the attendees focused on achieving a set of objectives during the coming phase, most notably discussing the mechanisms for implementing the plan for the year, emphasizing the need to strengthen coordination and teamwork among the unit’s members to ensure the smooth flow of tasks. Priorities were also identified and roles distributed in a way that directly contributes to raising the efficiency of the college’s outputs and effectively following up on the employment of graduates

This initiative is in line with the college and university’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4 (Quality Education), by providing training and qualification opportunities that ensure comprehensive and equitable education. The unit’s outputs also contribute to achieving Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by bridging the gap between academic education and labor market requirements, thereby preparing graduates for decent and productive employment opportunities
